Fujifilm, a leading global manufacturer of photography solutions has introduced Frontier S mobile lab printer into the Nigerian market for the first time.
The frontier S printer is a special model for quick service commercial photographers and will help prevent losses associated with having to keep or throw away large stock of pictures at events because guests have left before returning from the lab.
‘‘We have to be closer to the events and we also need sustainable quality over the years and this machine could help us achieve that. It is very smart, affordable and of very high quality,’’ said Laurent Audry, Division Manager Professional, Fujifilm in France.
Speaking on the initiative in Lagos recently, George Saleh, director of Fujifilm Africa Operations said they have identified Nigeria as a market where innovation thrives and new technology is appreciated.
‘‘The amount of creative energy in the Nigerian youth is very commendable and this is part of the rationale for introducing this latest range in our Fujifilm range. It is of great benefit to the business savvy photographer desirous of quick turnaround time and making great returns,’’ he said.
According to Saleh, the printer is a business partner to the business-minded quick service photographer adding that Fujifilm is glad to be an ally in bringing images to life.
‘‘At Fujifilm, we recognize the fast pace of the commercial photography business and always strive to come up with products to help photographers make more profits.
‘‘The event industry in Nigeria is a billion naira one and capturing moments at such events means a great deal to people. It is with this in mind that the Frontier S printer was developed,’’ he said.
Saleh further added: The printer is a print-on-site device and guests get to see and ok their pictures for printing which also prevents any losses on the part of the photographers.
On what makes the printer more unique than other printers, Audry says: ‘‘it is mobile, has more capacity, facility and quality. This machine will be at 1.5M and by our calculations, the photographer will get the return on his investments within three months’’
Fujifilm is mindful that acquisition costs may be a challenge and Saleh says they partnered with banks to provide funding opportunities for interest commercial photographers.
‘‘We have partnered with UBA to work out flexible payment plans that will help your business scale-up. We are also in talks with the Bank of Industry to support photography industry through the professional photographers association.
‘‘Collaboration and strategic partnership is a good way to make progress in business and life; so we will also encourage that some of the photographers come together to be joint owners of a machine and share the operations, the maintenance and more importantly the profit,’’ he said.
Fujifilm is a global player in the photography and imaging solutions business with an excellent array of products.
