Fidelity Bank plc handed over the keys and title deeds of a  4-bedroom duplex to Clara Ego Ibedu, who emerged star prize winner in the sixth draw of the bank’s Save 4 Shelter savings promo.
It was indeed a moment of joy and excitement as lucky customers carted away cash and  consolation prizes at an elaborate presentation ceremony held in Lagos.
Other winners such as Christopher Oluwaseun smiled home with a cheque of N2 million, Godwin Obiora and Kazeem Fatai were presented with a cheque of N500,000 and a refrigerator, respectively, while two-year-old Angela Oluwanifemi Apoesho received a brand new Thermocool generating set from the bank. Similar prize presentations held concurrently across the different regions of the bank.
Nnamdi Okonkwo, managing director/chief executive officer, Fidelity Bank Plc, who was represented at the occasion by Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, executive director, Lagos and South-West, said the promo was strategically designed to advance the financial inclusion mandates of the Federal Government, adding that the rationale behind the promo was simply to help reduce Nigeria’s housing deficit.
“Of course, there is a huge housing gap in Nigeria. The idea is that people should save to be able to own their homes, which supports the Federal Government’s housing policy,” he said.
Alluding to the correlation between savings and economic development, Okonkwo pointed out that the promo was a unique opportunity for the bank to reward customers for their undivided loyalty and patronage.
“We have an existing culture of rewarding customers at Fidelity Bank, but we decided to raise the stakes with the Save 4 Shelter Promo, to give our customers a chance to own their homes. It has been a great experience thus far,” Okonkwo said.
