On her part, Adedoyin Odunfa, CEO, Digital Jewels in her remarks, explained that as strategic partner to NIMC responsible for guiding the organisation through the rigourous and painstaking process of achieving this revered accreditation, the company was pleased to have achieved this momentous milestone.
Odunfa revealed that Digital Jewels proactively recommended this initiative to NIMC to secure its information assets, chief of which was the National Identification Database – an asset of critical national value.
According to her, “we approached the NIMC assignment in a systematic fashion that ensured that key stakeholders within NIMC and beyond were carried along and participated effectively.”
The project wouldn’t have been a success save for the tremendous support received from the Onyemena, who personally championed this cause and the entire management committee of NIMC for playing their part, she pointed out.
She highlighted some of the benefits to the accreditation to include ensuring the security and protection of critical information assets, instilling a continuous improvement culture, building a formalised system of controls, policies, processes and procedures, building skills and competencies and managing risks inherent in the system.
