Christabel Onyejekwe, an executive director for business development, has emerged as the chairperson of Africa Prudential Plc, following her previous role as an independent non-executive director in 2024.
The announcement, made during the company’s 12th Annual General Meeting on Friday, took effect on April 11, 2025.
Africa Prudential, an e-registration and business solutions company listed on the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX), noted that Onyejekwe succeeds Eniola Fadayomi, who retired after 12 years of service to the organization.
According to the company, Africa Prudential witnessed significant milestones that enhanced the company’s reputation as a technology-driven registrar business across Africa under her chairmanship.
“It has been a privilege to serve this great institution, witnessing its transformation into the formidable registrar business it is today. I am confident that Onyejekwe will bring renewed energy and perspective to the Board, and I have no doubt that Africa Prudential will continue to thrive under her leadership,” Fadayomi said.

Christabel Onyejekwe, a business leader with over 30 years of experience in the financial services sector has served as executive director, business development at the Nigerian Inter-Bank Settlement Systems Plc (NIBSS), where she led several strategic initiatives that deepened financial infrastructure in Nigeria.
Currently, she serves on several corporate boards and brings expertise in governance, strategy, and risk management to this role.
She expressed gratitude to the board for the opportunity, stating: “I am honoured to take on this role and build on the legacy of excellence established by my predecessors. I look forward to working closely with my colleagues on the board and management to drive the company’s strategic objectives.”
Samuel Nwanze and Peter Elumelu, both non-executive directors, also retired from the board after 12 years of service.
In line with its succession strategy, the board announced the appointment of Vincent Ukoh as a non-executive director, subject to approval by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Ukoh currently serves as CEO of HH Capital Limited, an investment firm with interests in financial services, energy, hospitality, and real estate.
