Key management factors like team & relationship building, being an effective negotiator & communicator, enhancing productivity, leadership skills among others will be unveiled to the first time and aspiring managers, via ‘The First Time Managers Workshop’ conducted by Paul.
This is based on the premise that managers may often not realize the difference between their role and function as a new manager as compared to be just an individual contributor. The workshop aims to dispel misconceptions about what managing a team entails, and reveal that the significant difference between the skills and methods required for a successful individual contributor as opposed to those required for a successful manager. The workshop will also address aspects like the trials and successes of the growth trajectory within an organization in differing scenarios. This would include those professionals who fall into management roles or are placed as per company needs and others, who have to work their way up the ladder. Centum Learning’s Open Workshop for First Time and Middle Level Mangers aims to provide strategies to handle the formidable challenges associated with moving into new and increasingly more complex leadership roles. The workshop will help gain a better perspective of various approaches to leadership and acquire new ideas to optimize and sustain resource potential. This is a golden opportunity for participants to understand leadership and management and the related drivers for performance enhancement and success, describe leadership experiences and values and be able to open the lines of communication and build trust. They would be able to create a personal vision as a leader and manager and manage more efficiently and develop productive teams.
The second workshop titled ‘Train the Trainers’ will cater to the needs of those organizations who understand that training has become an integral part of their DNA. This new trend, has led the organizations to re-evaluate their training policies and propose the creation of an internal training framework. Therefore building internal training competence ultimately, proves to be a valuable asset for the organization in several ways. Training delivery becomes a quick and efficient process which can be conducted at the organizational set up. This process is cost efficient, as it involves transfer of knowledge amongst people in the organization.
The advantages of Train the Trainers Workshop will be evident from the first day, itself. This can be realized by saving – the cost per participant is typically less when compared to sending the same number on to public training courses. Subsequent to the workshop, there would be no need for employees to travel any further than their offices and incur extra costs. Getting a group together allows all the training and learning to be focused on the company and can discuss real and current examples. It fits around the working schedule of the staff and at a location they come to everyday. The trainer initiates more training programs, thereby leading to a more efficient work force.
Centum Learning Africa will employ proven methodologies of making the workshop highly interactive by employing the use of various activities, simulations, exercises that enable seamless knowledge transfer. These include -Role Plays, Case Study, Small Group Activities, Videos/Slides, Discussions and Handout Notes. The workshop will promote learning via self-discovery, which is a proven method of training for adult participants. A wide-range of stimuli will be used to make the lessons pleasant and involving so that participants do not feel pushed, but willing to explore and learn. Some topics to be covered in the workshop are: Platform skills, Concepts of training, Training activities, Training Energizers and conducting role plays.
