Meeting between President Muhammadu Buhari and his service Chiefs ended abruptly at the Villa after just few minutes
The Service Chiefs which meet regularly with the President were again summoned to the Presidential Villa for the third time within a week, but the meting lasted fir just one minute, BusinessDay gathered.
The Service Chiefs refused to speak with State House Correspondents after the meeting as they hurriedly left the Villa.
But Business Day sources said the President only spent one minute the Service Chiefs before dismissing them.
It was gathered that they were to be briefed on the President’s decision to declared June 12 as Nigeria’s Democracy Day as well as formerly inform them of the decision to give posthumous award to the presumed winner of the June 12, 1993 Presidential election, Moshood Abiola.
But Defense Minister, Mansur Dan – Ali while speaking after the meeting said it was called to review previous submissions made by the Service Chiefs.
The Minister revealed that the meeting which is the third in one week was used to review the decisions taken earlier.
” We only reviewed the decisions taken before, that is all”
When pressed further on resolutions taken at the Thursday’s meeting, the meeting said there were no new resolutions.
The President had held similar meeting with Service Chiefs on Monday and Tuesday with the Thursday meeting being the third in one week.
