President Buhari is currently meeting stakeholders from the South East geo political zone. The meeting, which is still ongoing, Business Day gathered from State House sources is at the instance of the President.
The closed door meeting which is holding at the new banquet hall, is being attended by Governors from the region, including the President General of the Ohanaeze, the apex Igbo sociocultural Organization, John Nnia Nwodo.
The region has been thrown into crises following the introduction of “Operation Egwu Eke” or popularly translated to “Operation Python Dance”, carried out by Nigerian Soldiers in the region.

The military operation, were allegedly linked to some human rights abuses, following the attacks launched against the Indigenous People of Biafra( IPOB), culminating in the disappearance of the, IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
Only recently, the region was thrown into confusion over allegations of purported injection of Monkey Pox virus on school children by men of the 82 Battalion of the Nigerian Army.
The issue, which had began as a rumour spread like wild harmattan fire, leading to parents withdrawing their children from public schools in some of the states in the south east.
Although details of the closed door meeting were not available as at the time of filing this reports, it is however believed that these thorny issues and agitations for restructuring which the region is canvassing alongside other regions will be at the front burner as the President engage with the stakeholders from the region.
