Rauf Aregbesola, governor of Osun state said workers’ backlog of salaries would be paid soon.
This promise is contained in a statement issued by Semiu Okanlawon, the governor’s media aide in Osogbo on Wednesday.
The statement said Aregbesola made the promise when Ijesa Society, a social group, visited him.
Aregbesola expresses displeasure over the delay in payment of workers’ salaries.
“The visit of the group comes at a time when some people are being sponsored to rubbish my achievements”, Aregbesola said.
President of the group, Tunde Aluko, commended the governor for rapid development of the state.
Aluko expressed belief that the financial challenge confronting the state will soon be over.
