The PEARL Awards Nigeria, the country’s foremost platform for recognizing excellence in the capital market, will on November 30, this year, mark its 30th anniversary in Lagos
This year’s edition, themed “Celebrating a Legacy of Corporate Excellence,” highlights three decades of rewarding quoted companies for outstanding performance based strictly on verifiable facts and figures.
Speaking ahead of the milestone celebration, Tayo Orekoya, President/CEO of the PEARL Awards, said in a statement that the event will not only honour the 2025 winners but also reflect on the Awards’ journey since its establishment in 1995.
“We have walked a 30-year path guided by transparency and integrity,” Orekoya stated. “This anniversary is about celebrating excellence and reaffirming the values that continue to shape the Nigerian capital market.”
He said the PEARL Awards remains the only fact-based corporate awards in Nigeria, with winners selected through rigorous analysis of data from the Nigerian Exchange Ltd (NGX) and Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC), validated by an independent Technical Committee. “Since its inception, it has recognized leading companies in banking, manufacturing, oil and gas, and telecommunications, among others, earning a reputation for credibility and independence.
The 30th anniversary programme began in June with the PEARL Awards Corporate Summit, themed “Built to Last, Roadmap for Corporate Nigeria.” The summit brought together regulators, CEOs, and investors and featured the launch of the publication, “Winning Strategies of Nigeria’s Corporate Giants,” a compendium of insights from top executives.
As it enters its fourth decade, the PEARL Awards is preparing to expand its impact. According to Orekoya, the organization will deepen research capabilities, increase stakeholder engagement, and incorporate new performance dimensions such as sustainability and innovation.
“Our mission remains clear — to celebrate excellence, inspire resilience, and sustain legacies in Nigeria’s corporate landscape,” he affirmed. “By rewarding companies that excel, we contribute to building a stronger economy and a more vibrant capital market.” For 30 years, the PEARL Awards has set the gold standard for objective recognition in the Nigerian corporate space. With its 30th Anniversary celebration, it not only honors today’s leaders but also lays the foundation for the next generation of excellence, he said.
