Pulse, Africa’s media company, has announced the appointment of Biola Alabi to its Board of Directors, effective immediately.
The move brings one of Africa’s most accomplished business, media, and venture investment leaders into Pulse’s fold as it continues its mission to inform and engage young audiences across the continent.
Biola Alabi, known for her strategic vision and transformative leadership, brings over two decades of experience spanning corporate America and Africa. She has driven significant market expansion, built impactful partnerships, and accelerated growth in media, technology, and investment sectors.

Currently a Venture Partner at Delta40, Biola leads investments in climate-focused agtech and fintech innovations across Africa. She previously served as a general partner at Acasia Ventures, where she spearheaded fundraising and strategic initiatives across Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East. Her investment portfolio includes notable startups like Lengo AI, Winnich Farms, and Fez Delivery.
In addition to her investment credentials, Biola brings extensive governance experience, having served as a non-executive director on the boards of Unilever Nigeria, Big Cabal Media, subsidiaries of Odu’a Investment Company, and Akili TV.
Her boardroom expertise spans strategy, audit and risk management, finance, remuneration, and crisis management, contributing to corporate turnarounds and governance reforms.

Beyond the corporate world, Biola Alabi is celebrated as a champion of African storytelling and talent development. As the founder of Biola Alabi Media, she produced acclaimed films such as Lara and the Beat and Banana Island Ghost, amplifying authentic African narratives. During her tenure as Managing Director of M-Net Africa (Multichoice Group), she expanded the Africa Magic brand and established the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards, significantly shaping the African entertainment landscape.
