Accion Microfinance Bank (MfB) is committed to enriching the lives of young Nigerians through education-focused corporate citizen initiatives and has continued to demonstrate this in a variety of projects, which include the presentation of educational material to schools.

There are also plans for employees of the bank to donate their time and resources to volunteer in their host communities.

Accion MfB, in May 27, 2014, celebrated Children’s Day with a presentation of school bags and writing material to the pupils of Agidingbi Primary School and Olomu Primary School Ajah, both in Lagos State. The presentation, which took place in the schools’ premises, was part of the corporate citizenship initiatives implemented by the bsank.

Presenting the items to the children, Bunmi Lawson, CEO, Accion MfB, said: “We are happy to celebrate Children’s Day with the children and motivate them to bring out their best by believing the future is bright. We also use this opportunity to encourage the authorities to bring back our girls as we believe it is the responsibility of everyone to protect children.”

The children expressed their appreciation by singing nursery rhymes and cheering while the head teachers and other teachers looked on. In his remark at the occasion, the education secretary, Eti-Osa Local Government Education Authority expressed gratitude to the bank and encouraged the children to focus on their studies to have a bright future.
