The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced that the airspace has been reopened for flight operations after Air Peace flight P47190, operating from Lagos to Port Harcourt on Sunday morning, had a runway excursion after landing at the Port Harcourt International Airport.

FAAN, in a statement, said the landing distance is now 2,700 meters instead of the stipulated 3,000 meters. BusinessDay had earlier reported that the aircraft veered slightly off the runway without any damage.

Air Peace airline, which confirmed the incident in a statement, said “all passengers disembarked safely and calmly, and no injuries were reported.”

The airline reassured the flying public of its commitment to maintaining standards of safety in all its operations.
