Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar has promised to construct a refinery in Akwa Ibom State if elected as President.
Abubakar who made the promise at the PDP presidential rally in Uyo on Monday expressed regret over the downturn in the economy of the country caused by the APC administration.
The former Vice President who said that restructuring of the country is no longer an issue of debate, stated that such would result in more prosperity for people of the state.
He attributed every development in Akwa Ibom in the area of education, health, industries and infrastructure to the PDP.
On his part, PDP National Chairman, Uche Secondus said that if President Muhammadu Buhari refuses to reverse the suspension of Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Walter Onnoghen, God will reverse it.
He accused the President of usurping the roles of the Judiciary and the Legislature.
He said: “No one can play God. Nobody is God. Anyone that wants to play God in this country, if we flash our minds back to the history of our country, when you get to the point where you have to play God, God will bring you down. God has given you the most intelligent, most hardworking, most resourceful, energetic, innovative, world-class investment banker that is investing in the lives of Akwa Ibom.
“Our country is passing through very trying period, we are at a crossroads. As we speak, NJC is meeting, NBA is meeting, all civil society groups are meeting on the illegal action of the President.
“This President does not care about the Constitution. He wants to be the Chief Justice of Nigeria, he wants to be the President of Nigeria, he wants to be the President of Senate, he wants to the Speaker of the House of Representatives. Will you allow that? Our constitution provides separation of powers. He cannot fire the Chief Justice of Nigeria.
“He (Onnoghen) is your son. Our prayer is on that he will see reason to reverse all the irreversible. If he refuses, God will reverse it. If he refuses, something will happen. Something from God will happen. This is prophetic. The world is watching him, Nigerians are watching him.”
