Waidi Shaibu, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), has charged officers and soldiers of the 1 Division Nigerian Army, Kaduna, to intensify their operational efforts in tackling insecurity across the country.
He commended their commitment, sacrifice, and resilience during a maiden operational visit to formations and units within the division’s Area of Responsibility on Wednesday.
Shaibu said the visit was aimed at assessing ongoing operations and encouraging troops engaged in Operation Fasan Yama. Addressing the personnel, he expressed appreciation for their dedication, noting that their efforts had significantly contributed to stemming the tide of insecurity nationwide.
“This operational visit has taken me to various formations and units. This is one of the key formations participating in Operation Fasan Yama. My charge to you is to continue to carry out your duties professionally and remain committed to the mission before you,” Shaibu said.
The COAS urged the soldiers to uphold discipline, reaffirming the soldier-first concept and stressing that diligence at every level was essential to overcoming insecurity in the country. He reminded them that the nation relies heavily on its young men and women to stand firm in the face of security threats.
