The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has intensified efforts to mobilise members and leaders across the states for its ongoing electronic membership registration exercise.
At the opening of the APC e-Membership Registration Train-the-Trainers Workshop for state and FCT chairmen in Abuja on Thursday, Sulaiman Argungu, the party’s National Organising Secretary, expressed concern over the slow pace of participation in the exercise nationwide.
Argungu explained that the workshop was aimed at equipping state party chairmen with a detailed and practical understanding of the new digital registration process, urging them to take full ownership of the exercise to ensure its success.

“This session follows a series of workshops held across the six geopolitical zones, where state organising secretaries and representatives from each senatorial district participated,” Argungu noted.
“Today’s programme ensures that our state chairmen, custodians of party structures at the grassroots, grasp both the technical and strategic aspects of this initiative.”
He described the e-registration project as a major reform intended to transform party administration, noting that it goes beyond a mere bureaucratic task.
According to him, the exercise aims to create a credible, verifiable, and technology-driven database of party members nationwide, strengthen transparency and accountability, improve communication between the national secretariat and local chapters, and serve as a reliable tool for future congresses, primaries, and elections.
Argungu added that the digital registration system will also enhance mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“Your role in the success of this programme is crucial,” he told the state chairmen.
“You are expected to provide leadership and supervision, ensure proper training, mobilise members and new supporters to register digitally, and uphold fairness, inclusivity, and transparency throughout the process.
The success of this exercise depends on your active engagement and commitment.”
Bawa Rijau, the party’s National Vice Chairman (North Central), who represented Nentawe Yilwatda, the APC National Chairman, described the workshop as an important step towards strengthening the party’s internal systems and positioning it as a model of innovation.
“The leadership of our great party attaches immense importance to this initiative,” Rijau said.
“For the APC to remain a truly progressive and people-oriented party, it must embrace digital transformation, not as an option, but as a necessity for growth, credibility, and sustainability.”
He added that the session builds on previous zonal workshops and is designed to empower state chairmen to provide strategic leadership and oversight as the e-registration exercise is rolled out nationwide.
