Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed, a frontline stakeholder of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), on Friday congratulated the newly elected ward, local government, senatorial, and state executives of the party in Kwara State following the just-concluded congresses.
In a statement signed by l Abdulrahman Aliagan, his Director of Communications, and made to journalists, Ajia described the successful conduct of the congresses as a positive step toward repositioning the PDP for greater electoral success in the state.
He commended the outgoing executives for their steadfastness and loyalty to the ideals of the party’s founding fathers, despite not being in power.
According to him, Kwara remains unique in Nigeria for its consistent loyalty to the PDP, unlike in some other states where party leaders’ commitments are often questionable.
“There are questions about whether some leaders are genuinely working for the PDP or for the APC. But in Kwara, our outgoing executives never compromised. They held the structure together, remained faithful to our founding ideals, and kept the party alive despite back-to-back electoral losses. This resilience deserves commendation,” Ajia said.
He also urged the new executives led by State Chairman, Adamu Isa Bawa, to see their emergence not as an avenue for personal gain but as a call to service and strategic preparation for the 2027 general elections.
He described Adamu Isa Bawa as a trusted, calm, easy-going, and dogged party man who has consistently demonstrated loyalty to the PDP over the years.

Ajia further charged the new executives at the state, senatorial, local government, and ward levels to work collectively, analyze past setbacks, and adopt deliberate strategies to reclaim power.
“As a candidate in the last general election, I witnessed firsthand the overwhelming support of the people for our party. I do not believe Kwarans have rejected the PDP; rather, there are systematic manipulations that have been used to rig us out.
“This is the reality we must confront. Our task now is to move beyond routine party politics—we must be deliberate, strategic, and united in our approach to winning back power,” he emphasized.
Ajia also called on the new leadership to reconcile with members who left the PDP for third-force movements, warning that internal divisions cannot deliver victory.
“The PDP in Kwara has remained distinct. We must continue to distance ourselves from the confusion at the national level so that our people, who still have faith in us, are not left stranded. At the same time, we must broaden our political calculations to align with national dynamics, ensuring that our people benefit from the dividends of democracy—addressing insecurity, poverty, unemployment, youth restiveness, decayed infrastructure, and poor social amenities,” he noted.
Ajia further acknowledged the unwavering support of the PDP national leader, the President of the 8th Senate, Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki, who he said has remained committed to strengthening the party at both state and national levels.
Reiterating his own commitment, Ajia assured party faithful that he would continue to work with other stakeholders to ensure the PDP emerges stronger and victorious in 2027. He urged the people of Kwara State to embrace the PDP as the credible alternative.
“Our people deserve better. The PDP remains the most viable platform to restore hope, provide purposeful leadership, and usher in genuine development for the good of all Kwarans,” Ajia declared.
