Ailing Metuh, gets adjournment
The ailing Spokesperson of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olisa Metuh has been granted an adjournment by Justice Okon Abang of An Abuja High Court, in the trial brought against him.
Metuh who was reported to have slumped at the PDP secretariat during inauguration of caretaker committees for Kebbi and Borno state, is facing a seven count charge before the court, alongside his company Destra Limited for receiving N400million from the embattled former National Security Adviser (NSA), Sambo Dasuki.
At the resumption of trial, having been delayed by the trial judge for more than 2hours from the 9am time for court sitting, Metuh’s lawyer, Onyeachi Ikpeazu SAN, an adjournment was moved for him on health grounds.
The trial judge subsequently adjoirned the matter to May 17, for comtinuation of trial and cross examination of defence witness.
“If I am not here my bail conditions may be revoked and I don’t want that; but I have been here for three hours and we haven’t started. That’s why my lawyers asked for an adjournment. The doctor did not want to release me, but I insisted,” Metuh said after the adjournment was granted.
