The Anambra government on Wednesday announced the revocation of 689 non-performing plots in the state capital.
The commissioner for lands, survey and town planning, Okoli Akirika, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Awka that the plots were located at Ikenga Layout Extension (101), Agu-Awka Layout (180), Abuja Estate, Phase 1 (29), Akpaka Layout (256) and Iyi-Agu Layout (123).

Akirika said the plots were not developed 15 years after their allocation in spite of the government’s effort to open up the areas.
The commissioner said more than 960 people had applied for plots within the period, adding that those who filed their application were willing to develop the plot if allocated.
“Those who got allotment but could not get lands would be considered in the ongoing process,” he said.
