The Adamawa State Executive Council has approved a budget proposal of N583,331,380,496 for the 2026 fiscal year, tagged “Budget of Sustainable Growth and Renewal.”
According to the breakdown, recurrent expenditure is projected at N209,640,415,814, representing 35.93% of the total budget, while capital expenditure stands at N373,690,964,682, accounting for 64.07% of the proposal.
The Council meeting, which was presided over by Kaletupwa Farauta, deputy governor, also used the occasion to commiserate with the people of Lamurde Local Government Area over recent disturbances, urging residents across the state to embrace peace and identify strange individuals within their communities.

The Executive Council also gave approval for several capital projects aimed at strengthening infrastructure and social services across the state. These include:
Construction of Sports Facilities at COTIES, Gulak (Lot 2B)
A contract valued at N1,782,603,537.18 for a football pitch, athletics track, pavilion, and handball, basketball, and volleyball courts to promote sporting activities at the College of Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Studies.
High Court Complex in Gulak, Madagali LGA
Approved at N373,772,165.40 with a six-month completion period to enhance the timely dispensation of justice.
Adamawa State Traditional Council Secretariat to be constructed at a cost of N2,501,750,280.88, following SME guidelines, with a completion timeline of 12 months.
2.2-Kilometre Access Road in Sangere Bode, Yola South LGA approved at N290,312,859.96 will link the main road to several settlements in the area.
8.5-Kilometre Road from Numan -Jalingo Road to Kodomti and Shaforon, awarded at N1,889,597,427.50 to ease movement and improve connectivity in Numan LGA.
Blockwork Perimeter Fence for Adamawa State University, Mubi, approved at N3,536,174,769.50 to improve security at the institution.
The government reiterated its commitment to prioritizing infrastructure, security, and community development as key pillars for sustainable growth in 2026.
