Accrete, a Nigerian-petroleum engineering consultancy firm providing services in integrated asset modeling production optimization has teamed up with Aberdeen-based Adept Solutions to provide unique production data management and hydrocarbon accounting solutions for the oil and gas industry in Nigeria using the Axis software.
“Hydrocarbon accounting is the cash register of an operator’s oil and gas business. The accuracy and timeliness of hydrocarbon accounting is essential in order to satisfy joint venture partners, allow operators to make the best commercial decisions and to fulfill the requirements of the industry regulators”, said Steve Penman, Client Director of Adept Solutions on the side line of the just concluded Nigeria Annual International Conference & Exhibition (NAICE 2015) organised by Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), Nigeria Council.
In this era of low oil prices, hydrocarbon accounting has become more important especially when you consider that evenrelatively minor errors and delays can “ultimately add up to significant financial losses, with potential for millions of dollars to be removed from your account sheet”, said Penman.
The Axis software is used by oil and gas companies to account for oil and gas production and allocation in processing facilities, pipelines and terminals. It is an agile, flexible and configurable hydrocarbon accounting system that provides the global energy industry with enhanced data integrity and operational insight. The system works by gathering and processing raw operational information such as metering data, sample analysis results and forecasts to create auditable statements of hydrocarbon allocation, which can be reported to internal and external stakeholders.
Initially, Adept Solutions attended to its West African clients from their Aberdeen office but its partnership with Accrete has provided it with the local content support and well-trained staff who are on ground to attend to their clients’ needs. Since its entrance into the Nigerian market, the hydrocarbon accounting software has been deployed by Seplat and Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC).
BukolaOladunjoye, Managing Director of Accrete Petroleum, said the company “deploys its global network of strategic partners to provide local solutions that span the full life cycle of any energy development”.
Apart from Adept Solutions, Accrete Petroleum also represents Petroleum Experts in Nigeria delivering Integrated Production Modelling (IPM) software and the Digital Oilfield Solutions.
The IPM is used as single well modeling and design tool that enables various engineering disciplines to undertake a fully integrated field studies with the objectives of improving field management – production and recovery – over the life of a field. Through this, integrating reservoir, production, process and facilities studies as well as economics and field maintenance models can make improved investment decisions.
Petroleum Experts (Petex) has pioneered this direction with the IPM suite, which is the only fully integrated reservoir, well, surface network modelling and production optimisation system in the market today. It relies on sound engineering models at each level in the system. Petroleum Experts made a strategic decision to move this integrated field studies concept forward and to develop real time “IPM Field Management”, currently referred to as the Digital Oilfield (DOF). The DOF integrate the field modelling tools with online Surveillance monitoring, Automation and client field and business management Workflows.
