AC Milan have renewed their interest in Bayer Leverkusen’s Nigerian striker Victor Boniface, with sporting director Igli Tare reportedly working on a potential deal.
The Rossoneri are actively in the market for a new centre-forward this summer, and Boniface remains their top target despite his high valuation. Milan have reopened talks with Bayer Leverkusen and the player’s representatives following initial exploratory discussions last week.
Tare, who is leading the club’s recruitment efforts, is said to favour the 24-year-old Nigerian international, who impressed in the Bundesliga before a serious muscular injury in November 2024 interrupted his season. Boniface still managed to score 11 goals in 27 appearances across all competitions and remains under contract with Leverkusen until June 2028.
Milan are fully aware that pricing Boniface away from the German champions will require a significant financial commitment, and negotiations are likely to be examined more thoroughly in August.
Milan are also monitoring alternative striker options, including Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson and Genk’s Tolu Arokodare, another Nigerian forward who has also been offered to Napoli.
As Milan continue its search for a striker, Boniface is considered the ideal long-term fit, and the club is expected to make a strong effort to secure his signature in the upcoming weeks.
