They don’t have to queue twice. It is part of our 2015 model. We want people who visit our cinema toe experience everything. We have designed our cinema in such a way that it is convenient for people to seat.”
Mkparu further explains that Filmhouse has a commitment to roll out 25 cinemas in Nigeria by 2018. According to him, Filmhouse has a vision to take cinema entertainment to every region in the country and the continent. “Filmhouse is the fastest growing cinema chain in Africa,” he explains. “Already, the Nigerian film has become the biggest in the cinema. It is now time for Nigerian film makers to be able to realise money from their films. In a few months, we will open in Akure, Kano, and Asaba by Easter. What we need to promote Nigerian films is more screens.”
Mkparu adds that it has not been easy setting up cinemas across the country. “Setting up a cinema is quite an arduous task so seeing this brand new cinema, and more importantly seeing our guests happy to get their own local cinema makes me give thanks to God for making this possible. In addition, this cinema will also contribute to the all-important distribution outlets that Nollywood film producers need to realise more revenue from their films.”
