Prince Alwaleed bin Khaled bin Talal, Saudi royal, widely known as “The Sleeping Prince,” has passed away after spending nearly 20 years in a coma following a devastating traffic accident in London in 2005.
His father, Prince Khaled bin Talal, confirmed the news on Saturday, announcing that funeral prayers will be held on Sunday at the Imam Turki bin Abdullah Mosque in Riyadh, following the Asr prayer.
Alwaleed (Prince), who was studying in the United Kingdom at the time of the accident, fell into a complete coma and never regained full consciousness.

It was learnt that over the years, videos occasionally surfaced showing limited movement, such as slight hand or head gestures sparking moments of hope among loved ones and sympathizers.
However, he remained under intensive medical care throughout, dependent on life support.
Prince Khaled remained steadfast in his belief that only God holds the authority over life and death, consistently refusing to withdraw life support despite the bleak prognosis.
News of Alwaleed’s condition had drawn national and international attention, with countless people across Saudi Arabia and the Arab world expressing empathy and prayers throughout the years.
His passing marks the end of a long, emotional chapter that deeply resonated with many as condolences pour in from around the world.
