Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, the Olubadan designate, has admonished all the traditional rulers in Ibadanland to resist land grabbing, crisis and any act that can tarnish the image of Olubadan, Advisory Council and Ibadanland.
Oba Ladoja assured the public that any traditional ruler that aids and abet land grabbing and other criminal acts will be seriously dealt with accordingly.
Speaking on behalf of the Olubadan-designate, Oba Amidu Salawudeen Ajibade, ekerin Olubadan, while receiving the oba in Ibadanland at Olubadan Palace, Oke Aremo, Ibadan on Monday, urged the sons, daughters and residents of Ibadanland to continue to pray for peaceful co-existence, unity, progress and development of Ibadanland.
Ayoade Solomon Olugbemiga, chief press secretary to late Olubadan of Ibadan, quoted Oba Ladoja as warning “you must realize that anywhere you are, you are representing the Olubadan of Ibadanland, his Advisory Council and Ibadanland at large, consequently, you must monitor the Mogajis and Baales under you to protect the dignity and integrity of Ibadanland”.
Oba James Oluyemi Odeniran, Alakinyele of Akinyele, earlier in his address, disclosed that they were at the palace to register their condolences on the passage of late Oba Olakulehin and to pledge their allegiance to the in- coming Olubadan of Ibadanland.
Present at the meeting were: Oba Kolawole Adegbola, Otun Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Dauda Abiodun Azeez, the Ashipa Balogun of Ibadanland, Royal Highnesses, Mogajis and baales among others.
Meanwhile, the Olubadan-designate, Oba Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja has urged Ibadan residents to make peaceful co-existence their watch word.
“Ibadanland is known to enjoy peaceful co- existence irrespective of difference in language, religion and tribe, therefore I urge you all to remain peaceful and be your brothers’ keepers,” Oba Ladoja emphasised.
Represented by the Ekerin Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Akeem Mobolaji Adewoyin at the meeting with the Council of Traditional Baales in Ibadanland held at Olubadan Palace, Oke-Aremo Ibadan, Oba Ladoja requested for prayers and unalloyed support of all and sundry to move the city of Ibadan in particular and Oyo State in general forward.
Earlier, president, Council of Ibadanland Traditional Baales, Baale Oladapo Wasiu Atilola said that they were in the palace to celebrate the departure of an achiever, peace loving and philanthropist, late Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin (Ige Olakulehin 1) and to heartily welcome the in – coming Olubadan of Ibadanland.
