Italian club AS Roma are reportedly interested in signing Super Falcons winger Rinsola Babajide following her impressive displays at the ongoing 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
According to Il Romanista, Roma have identified the 27-year-old as a potential addition to their squad, impressed by her pace, creativity, and attacking versatility as Nigeria continues their strong campaign in Group B.
Babajide, who plays for Spanish Liga F side UDG Tenerife, had a standout 2024/25 season, scoring 10 goals and registering five assists in 26 appearances.
Her performances at club level have now been matched by eye-catching form on the international stage, where she has become an integral part of Nigeria’s bid for a record-extending 10th WAFCON title.
Born in England to Nigerian parents, Babajide represented England at youth level from U19 to U21 before switching international allegiance to Nigeria in 2023. She made her debut for the Super Falcons in October 2023 during the Olympic qualifiers against Ethiopia.
A seasoned professional, Babajide’s club career has included stints at Crystal Palace, Millwall Lionesses, Watford, Liverpool, Brighton & Hove Albion, Real Betis, and now Tenerife.
Her consistent form and attacking flair have now put her on the radar of Roma, who are keen to strengthen their squad ahead of the new Serie A Femminile season.
Talks are yet to be confirmed, but with Babajide’s stock on the rise, a move to Italy could soon be on the cards.
