Atiku Abubakar, former Vice President, David Mark, Rotimi Amaechi and other major stakeholders of the coalition group are currently meeting at the Yar’Adua centre, Abuja, to formally adopt the Africa Democratic Congress, ADC, as their party.
BusinessDay gathered that David Mark will serve as the party’s interim National Chairman, while Rauf Aregbesola will serve as interim National Secretary.
The meeting is also being attended by Nasir El-Rufai, former Kaduna State Governor, Tom Ikimi, Josephine Anenih, amongst others
With the adoption of the ADC as their vehicle, the coalition will no longer require registering another political party to prosecute their ambition of unseating President Bola Tinubu in 2027.
David Mark was reported to have formerly resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on Tuesday to enable him to play his leadership role in the new party.
