Coronation Insurance Plc and Coronation Life Assurance Limited participated in the 2025 Insurance Awareness Walk organised by the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN). The event marked the start of the annual Insurance Awareness Week and aimed to improve understanding of insurance across the country.
The walk took place on Saturday, 28 June, and brought together professionals from across the insurance sector. Participants included underwriters, brokers, loss adjusters, agents, and regulators. The procession started at the NEM Insurance Plc office on Ikorodu Road and ended at the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos.
Staff of Coronation Insurance and Coronation Life joined other stakeholders, wearing company-branded T-shirts and caps. They carried banners and flyers bearing the message “Insurance for All: Securing Nigeria’s Future”. The team walked in groups, spoke to bystanders, and handed out materials explaining the importance of insurance.
Olamide Olajolo, Managing Director of Coronation Insurance Plc, said, “At Coronation, we believe that awareness is the first step to protection. That’s why we’re out here; walking, engaging, and reminding every Nigerian that insurance is for everyone, everywhere, every day.”
The event was designed to inform the public about the role of insurance in financial planning and national development. It also aimed to address the gap in knowledge that has limited insurance uptake in the country.
Coronation’s involvement aligns with its goal to support industry collaboration, increase insurance literacy, and improve customer engagement. As discussions around economic resilience grow, the company continues to take part in initiatives that encourage Nigerians to secure their lives, properties, and businesses.
CIIN’s Insurance Awareness Walk remains one of the major campaigns dedicated to bridging the trust gap between the public and the insurance industry.
