Rano Air Limited has said it’s team of engineers are currently on-site, working in full cooperation with aviation authorities to determine the root cause of incident that affected one of its engines recently.
The incident which occurred on Sunday, June 29, 2025, involved one of Rano Air’s aircraft with registration number 5N-BZY, operating a flight from Abuja to Sokoto.
According to the airline’s management, the aircraft experienced an in-flight issue with one of its engines.
“Following standard safety protocols, our highly trained flight crew initiated all necessary procedures and safely landed the aircraft at Sokoto Airport. After a successful landing, the Aircraft was promptly grounded under Rano Air’s safety policies to allow for an investigation to begin, complying with established industry standards.

“The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has been duly notified, and the affected aircraft has been grounded for a thorough investigation by the Directorate of airworthiness. Our team of engineers is currently on-site, working in full cooperation with aviation authorities to determine the root cause of the incident.
We are pleased to confirm that no injuries were reported among passengers or crew members onboard.
“All individuals are safe and have disembarked. Rano Air Limited prioritizes the safety and well-being of its passengers and crew. We regret any inconvenience or concern this incident may have caused. We commend our flight crew for their professionalism and adherence to safety procedures, which ensured a safe outcome,” the airline stated.
