Arsenal have reportedly reopened negotiations to sign Nigeria international Ademola Lookman from Atalanta, reigniting their interest after approaching him last summer.

Lookman’s stock has soared since his heroics in the 2024 UEFA Europa League final, where he scored a stunning hat-trick to help Atalanta defeat Bayer Leverkusen and claim their first European title. His performances in Serie A have further reinforced his case for a return to the Premier League.
The former Charlton Athletic academy graduate enjoyed a standout 2023/24 campaign, netting 20 goals and providing seven assists in 40 appearances across all competitions. His contributions were vital in Atalanta’s third-place finish in Serie A and their qualification for the UEFA Champions League knockout stages.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is keen to strengthen his squad, and Lookman’s skills, along with his Premier League experience during his time with Everton, Fulham, and Leicester City, make him an attractive target.
Atalanta signed Lookman from RB Leipzig in 2022 for €10.85 million plus bonuses and a sell-on clause. Since arriving in Italy, he has tallied 52 goals and 25 assists in 118 appearances, becoming a key figure under Gian Piero Gasperini.
With Arsenal expected to spend aggressively this summer, Lookman is once again firmly on their radar as the Gunners look to add firepower for another title challenge.
