Ibok-ete Ibas, the retired rear admiral, is the Sole Administrator of Rivers State in the state of emergency.
The Sole Administrator (Solad) dissolved the managements of the 23 LGAs he met and appointed his own sole administrators (called by many as small Solads). The retired admiral has preferred to rely on Olugbenga Adepoju, the newly posted Commissioner of Police (CP) in Rivers State, to handle security in the state. The CP represents him in all his LGA tours.
Now, something shocking happened in the state. A video clip went viral where a full man in full dresses was being dragged, the floored, and beaten black and blue by a horde of men. It turned out that it was the small Solad of Ahoada-East LGA. Imagine!

More shocking was that the attackers and those flogging the boss were led by his chief of staff ad his chief security officer. The video continued to be viral without a word from big Solad, the man that appointed the small Solad. The police too remained silent for 48 hours until calls began to pester the CP. The silence began to be loud. Then the CP spoke. It was regarded that the Solad has spoken, since the CP has been speaking for the Solad in security matters.
The victim turned out to be as speculated, the Sole Administrator of Ahoada East LGA, Goodluck Iheanachor, who was seen in the video being tortured on the floor into signing an already drafted resignation letter. The letter was later released to the public by known persons. The police later said the people beating the boss were his aides with over 30 others.

Now, the Rivers State police command has declared the action as ‘conspiracy, violent attack, assault occasioning harm, and stealing’. He called it a condemnable act.
In a statement signed by Grace Iringe-Koko, a Superintendent of Police who is the Police Public Relations (PPRO) of the command, the command said it was aware and deeply disturbed by the heinous attack.
The police however described the attackers as ‘group of hoodlums numbering about 30’. Many wonder if top aides in govt are still hoodlums.
The police hav invited the attackers, and indication that they must be ‘honourable men’ to be invited instead of to be chased down and arrested.
