More than 50,000 young people thronged a major venue in Tanzania over the weekend for the Twen’Zetu Kwa Yesu concert, headlined by Mercy Chinwo, a Nigerian gospel singer.
The worship event, charged with passion, unity, and heartfelt praise, brought together a diverse crowd from across East Africa, all eager to exalt Jesus Christ through music and fellowship.
Held in the heart of Tanzania, the concert became a convergence point for youth from various Christian denominations, united by a common desire to worship.
Chinwo, known for her powerful voice and spiritually uplifting songs, led the audience in hours of worship and celebration, performing a medley of her most beloved hits.
From fan favourites like “Excess Love,” “My Lover,” and “Confidence” to newer anthems such as “Overwhelming Victory,” “Father Eh,” “Wonder,” and “Elevated,” the crowd sang along with intensity, echoing songs that spoke of God’s faithfulness and unfailing love.
“The joy, the energy, the love, and the glory of God were truly palpable in the arena,” Mercy Chinwo said after the concert, reflecting on the overwhelming turnout and spiritual atmosphere.
Renowned for her soulful delivery and deep sense of anointing, Chinwo created an atmosphere that transcended music, leaving a lasting impression on attendees. Though not her first concert in Africa, the Tanzanian edition marked a significant milestone in her growing international footprint.
Chinwo has previously performed in major cities across the UK, US, Europe, and several African nations, continually drawing thousands to her deeply spiritual concerts.
She is currently signed to GNT Music, a label she co-founded with her husband, Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa. GNT Music operates under the larger Grace and Truth Nation (GNT), a platform focused on spiritual transformation through media, ministry, and mentorship.
“Beyond entertainment, Mercy Chinwo’s music is a spiritual experience that uplifts, empowers, and rejuvenates the soul,” GNT said in a statement.
