Tetracore Energy Group Limited has announced the commissioning of Phase 2 of its AutoGas Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) supply network in partnership with Dangote Cement PLC. The expansion includes the launch of a mobile CNG refuelling unit at the Dangote Cement Plant in Ibese, Ogun State.
“This commissioning represents more than just an infrastructure upgrade,” said Engr. Masud Abdulmujeeb Akajewole, Project Team Lead. “It is a reaffirmation of our strategic intent to support Nigeria’s gas utilisation projects while offering practical, innovative solutions that bridge energy gaps for industrial and transport players.”
This mobile unit can supply up to 50,000 standard cubic metres per day (SCMD) of AutoGas, supporting the 25,000 SCMD already provided by Tetracore’s mother station in Atakabo, Ogun State. The initiative is part of a wider effort to meet rising demand for cleaner fuels across Nigeria’s industrial and transport sectors.
Tetracore is supplying AutoGas to Dangote’s growing fleet of CNG-powered trucks, supporting the company’s plan to deploy up to 10,000 trucks each year. The trucks, powered by compressed natural gas, are aimed at reducing the cost of logistics and environmental impact across the country.
By delivering fuel directly at key locations, including ports, Tetracore is addressing the need for accessible clean energy. The company’s role in this partnership demonstrates its contribution to Nigeria’s goal of increasing gas utilisation and reducing reliance on traditional fuels.
The new unit enhances operational flexibility, particularly in areas where permanent infrastructure is not yet available. The mobile design allows for scalable refuelling services across different locations.
The broader CNG supply network is designed to deliver up to 400,000 SCMD. This will serve not only Dangote’s logistics operations but also other AutoGas users in the region.
This development aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and supports national CNG policies. These policies focus on improving energy access, lowering emissions, and transitioning to more sustainable fuel options.
With further mobile units planned for rollout across Nigeria, the partnership between Tetracore and Dangote Cement is set to improve clean energy distribution and offer practical solutions to fuel delivery challenges nationwide.
