MultiChoice Group has announced Busola Tejumola as its new executive head of General Entertainment Channels. Tejumola will now head African content as she tries to help the company bolster its leadership in the African media and entertainment industry.
With over 19 years of leadership experience in media and IT, Tejumola brings a wealth of expertise and a proven track record of driving innovation and growth.
The role which was formerly held by Nomsa Philiso will see her produce content not just for Nigeria or West Africa but the whole of Africa for MultiChoice Group, both linear and Showmax streaming platform. She’ll be tasked to interact with creators all over the continent and globally, and work closely with the MultiChoice talent factory to churn out producers for the next generation.

In her previous role as executive head of Content and Channels, West Africa, Tejumola spearheaded the strategic repositioning of the Africa Magic portfolio, revitalising its offerings to enhance subscriber engagement and market relevance in Nigeria and Ghana. Her visionary leadership transformed flagship projects, including Big Brother Naija, the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA), and the Africa Magic 20th Anniversary Relaunch, cementing MultiChoice’s dominance in the region’s entertainment sector.
Holding a PhD in Management Information Systems, she combines deep technical knowledge with a passion for storytelling, earning her global recognition, including a feature in Forbes Afrique Women in Management for her role in media.
Her strategic vision is expected to shape the future of MultiChoice’s general entertainment channels, driving sustainable growth and expanding the company’s footprint across Africa.
