Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle has included Kano Pillars forward Ahmed Musa in his 25-man squad for the Unity Cup Tournament scheduled to take place in London.
Also named in the squad are winger Moses Simon, goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, and midfielder Wilfred Ndidi. Chelle explained that the Unity Cup presents a crucial opportunity to assess new talents in different roles.
“We’re looking forward to taking part in the Unity Cup as it will give us the chance to try out a few new players in different roles, helping us to strengthen our squad before the matches in September and October.”

Chelle has given opportunities to several standout performers from the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL). Junior Harrison Nduka, captain of the CHAN-bound Super Eagles B team and Remo Stars, headlines the domestic contingent in a defence line that also features Semi Ajayi, Bruno Onyemaechi, Igoh Ogbu, and fellow home-based players Ifeanyi Onyebuchi, Sodiq Ismaila, and Waliu Ojetoye.
In midfield, Papa Daniel Mustapha, Saviour Isaac, and Collins Ugwueze will compete for places against established internationals Wilfred Ndidi, Frank Onyeka, and Chrisantus Uche.
In attack, Ahmed Musa, Adamu Abubakar, and Sikiru Alimi will challenge for starting spots alongside Samuel Chukwueze, Moses Simon, Cyriel Dessers, Nathan Tella, Tolu Arokodare, and Kelechi Iheanacho.
The Unity Cup, which features Nigeria, Jamaica, Ghana, and Trinidad and Tobago, will be held at the 17,250-capacity Gtech Community Stadium in Brentford, West London. The tournament kicks off on Tuesday, 27th May, with Trinidad and Tobago facing Jamaica in the opening semi-final. On Wednesday, 28th May, Nigeria will face long-time rivals Ghana in a high-stakes second semi-final clash.
All four teams will return on Saturday, 31st May, for the final day of the tournament. The semi-final losers will square off in the third-place match, followed by the grand finale to crown the Unity Cup 2025 champions.
Meanwhile, for the upcoming friendly against Russia’s senior national team on Friday, 6th June, at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow, Chelle has selected 21 players. The list includes captain William Troost-Ekong, defenders Olaoluwa Aina and Bright Osayi-Samuel, midfielders Fisayo Dele-Bashiru and Raphael Onyedika, and strikers Victor Boniface and Sadiq Umar, with several Unity Cup invitees also expected to feature.
