Nigerian police officer and undefeated MMA fighter Juliet Ukah is set to make history as she headlines the inaugural Professional Fighters League (PFL) Africa event in Cape Town.
The first-ever PFL Africa event will take place on Saturday, July 19, at the GrandWest Arena, marking a groundbreaking milestone for mixed martial arts on the African continent.

This will be the first time a global MMA organisation hosts an event in Africa, and it will spotlight elite fighters from across the continent competing in the Bantamweight and Heavyweight divisions.
The PFL has confirmed that tickets for the historic event will go on sale May 22.
Main Card Features Africa’s Top Talents
In the main event, South Africa’s Nkosi Ndebele (8-3) will square off against Egypt’s Mahmoud Atef (5-2) in a Bantamweight Semifinal.
The co-main event features Cameroon’s Maxwell Djantou Nana (6-1) taking on Ivory Coast’s Mikael Groguhe (6-2) in a showdown of heavy-hitters.
Juliet Ukah headlines Women’s Showcase bout
Adding to the evening’s excitement, Nigeria’s Juliet Ukah (6-0) will enter the PFL SmartCage in a special Women’s Strawweight Showcase Bout. Her opponent is expected to be announced soon.
Ukah, widely considered one of Africa’s rising MMA stars, will look to extend her unbeaten record on what promises to be a historic night for women’s MMA in Africa.
32 Fighters, 15 Nations: PFL Africa Champions
The 2025 PFL Africa Tournament will feature eight-man brackets in each weight class, beginning with Bantamweight and Heavyweight. In total, 32 fighters representing 15 African nations will compete across four divisions in the battle to become the first-ever PFL Africa Champions.
