Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is prepared to break the club’s transfer budget to land a top striker to lead their Premier League title challenge next season.
The Gunners are set to end a fifth consecutive season without silverware, following a campaign derailed by injuries to key players including Kai Havertz, Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus, and Martin Odegaard.

Those setbacks proved costly as Arsenal struggled to keep pace with champions Liverpool in the title race and fell short in the Champions League semi-final against Paris Saint-Germain.
Arteta has made signing a prolific forward his top priority in the summer transfer window. Despite not featuring for almost four months, Havertz remains Arsenal’s top Premier League scorer with just nine goals, a statistic that underlines the urgent need for a reliable goal-scorer.

Arsenal are believed to have at least £100 million available for summer reinforcements, with the club linked to RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko, Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres, and Newcastle’s Alexander Isak.
The Gunners were unsuccessful in their January pursuit of Ollie Watkins from Aston Villa, but Arteta insists he’s now ready to do “whatever it takes” to land his ideal target.
“The thing is that the budget is like when you plan your wedding with your wife; you give her a budget, and it’s never less; it’s always more,” Arteta told reporters on Friday.
“It’s the same when you build a house. There are always variable injuries and unexpected changes. But there is a clear plan, and we work within the limits while preparing for different scenarios.”
Arsenal, currently second in the league, will host third-placed Newcastle on Sunday.
