RegTech Africa, an organisation dedicated to fostering innovation in regulatory technologies across Africa, is set to host a two-day conference and awards ceremony to explore the transformative power of public-private partnerships (PPPs) in reshaping the continent’s economic future.
Under the theme “Unlocking Africa’s Cross-Border Payments, Trade, and Investment Opportunities through Public-Private Partnerships,” this year’s event promises to ignite actionable dialogue, foster groundbreaking partnerships, and showcase cutting-edge solutions for Africa’s growth.
The event, organised by RegTech Africa, is set to be held from May 22-23, 2025, at the Oriental Hotel in Lagos, Nigeria.
The premium event is expected to convene more than 1,000 participants, including high-level policymakers, technology innovators, investors, and trade experts from across the globe.
The 2025 conference comes at a critical moment as Africa seeks to overcome persistent hurdles such as fragmented payment systems, complex trade regulations, and constrained investment flows that have historically hampered the continent’s full integration into global markets.
In the spirit of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), the event places public-private partnerships (PPPs) at the forefront of Africa’s transformation agenda. “As Africa continues to take bold strides toward economic integration through the AfCFTA, collaboration between the public and private sectors is no longer optional—it’s essential,” said Cyril Okoroigwe, Chair, Organizing Committee, RegTech Africa Conference.
With support from strategic partners including the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Sumsub, EMTECH, Regfyl, the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), and the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), the conference will explore scalable and sustainable regulatory technology solutions tailored to the continent’s unique challenges.
The event will feature an impressive lineup of speakers such as Musa Jimoh, Director of Payments System Policy at CBN; Abdulrasheed Bawa, former Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission; Lorien Gamaroff, Co-founder and CEO of Centbee; Edwin Woryonwon Harris Jr., Director General of GIABA; and Dr. Nurudeen Abubakar Zauro, Technical Adviser to the President on Economic and Financial Inclusion.
Attendees can expect a high-impact program featuring keynote sessions, dynamic panel discussions on cross-border trade and regulation, exhibitions showcasing RegTech innovations, and a prestigious awards ceremony celebrating excellence in regulatory technology and PPP-led initiatives.
“The 2025 RegTech Africa Conference is a call to action for all stakeholders to come together, break down barriers, and unleash Africa’s full potential,” said Olusanmi Graham Lawal, Director of Partnerships at RegTech Africa.
