The newly launched “Anambra Iconic Light of the Nation Tower”, a monument conceptualised by the Chukwuma Soludo’s administration, will beautify the state and serve as tourist attraction for residents and visitors.
Temitope Runsewe, managing director, Dutum Construction firm, which constructed the project, told BusinessDay that projects like this will help position Anambra competitively on the national tourism map.
The tower has a water fountain and the globe at the top, which symbolises the Anambra State Slogan – ‘Light of the Nation’.
“It is more than just a visual landmark; it is a long-term economic asset. In building it, we were not just thinking about today’s aesthetics but tomorrow’s opportunities.
“That is why we brought all the vigor and expertise into this project, ensuring it delivers durability, functionality, and lasting value.
“As a company that has partnered with every level of government over three decades, we understand the importance of aligning construction execution with public vision.
“This project exemplifies the power of a determined partnership between a forward-thinking state government and a construction company with the experience, capability, and commitment to materialize ambitious infrastructure dreams.” Runsewe said.
He said that it took the company six months to build the 40 metres high tower.
