Bournemouth scored twice from dead-ball situations to complete a stunning 2-1 comeback win over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners had taken a first-half lead through Declan Rice, who marked his 100th appearance for the club by rounding Kepa Arrizabalaga and finishing coolly. Despite dominating large spells of the game, Arsenal were undone by Bournemouth’s resilience and smart use of set-pieces.
Mikel Arteta opted against rotating his squad ahead of a crucial Champions League semi-final second leg in France, naming a strong starting lineup. However, the decision didn’t pay off, as the visitors staged a spirited second-half fightback.
Bournemouth struck back in the 67th minute when Dean Huijsen powered home a header from Antoine Semenyo’s long throw. Just eight minutes later, Evanilson bundled in from a corner to complete the turnaround and secure Bournemouth’s first-ever win at the Emirates.
Despite the loss, Arsenal remain second in the Premier League standings, though Manchester City in third are now just three points behind. Bournemouth’s victory boosts their hopes of European qualification, lifting them to eighth place on the table.
