Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, the suspended Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, has denied explosive allegations made against her during a Facebook Live broadcast by United States-based activist, Sandra Duru, popularly known as “Professor Mgbeke.”
In a statement issued on Friday, Akpoti-Uduaghan described the livestream as “entirely untrue” and “manipulated,” alleging that it was a coordinated smear campaign orchestrated to serve the “ulterior motive” of Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
“I have carefully watched a livestream which was done by one Sandra C Duru on Facebook, on May 1st, 2025,” Akpoti-Uduaghan said.
“The content of the live stream, including the voice effect credited to me, are entirely untrue, and most manipulated to serve Sandra Duru’s ulterior motive of playing the script of Senator Godswill Akpabio”, she added.

The Senator dissociated herself from derogatory statements allegedly directed at Oby Ezekwesili, Abiola, the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA), and fellow Nigerians, insisting she never referred to anyone as “gullible and hungry.”
“To the best of my knowledge, those words used against Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, Dr. Abiola, FIDA and fellow Nigerians as ‘gullible and hungry’ are crazy falsehood and did not emanate from the natural cause of any contact involving me,” she said.
Akpoti-Uduaghan further stated that her findings revealed that Sandra Duru previously operated under the pseudonym “Professor Mgbeke” on Facebook.
“It was from recent research that I also found out that the person who now represents herself as Sandra Duru is the same person who operated as Prof. Mgbeke on Facebook,” she noted.
Meanwhile, during the over one-hour live stream on Thursday night, Duru accused the Senator of fabricating a sexual harassment claim against Akpabio and attempting to bribe her with N200 million to spread falsehoods about the former Akwa Ibom governor, including organ harvesting allegations.
“I told Natasha, ‘You are a pathological liar. You have disgraced us, Nigerians,’” Duru claimed.

She alleged that Akpoti-Uduaghan admitted having no evidence to support her claims and even made incendiary remarks about the Nigerian public.
“She said Nigerians were G and H – ‘Gullible and Hungry,’” Duru stated.
She further alleged that the Senator sought to weaponise the death of Iniubong Umoren, a young job seeker murdered in 2021—by suggesting Akpabio’s involvement.
“Umoren died in 2021. An autopsy was done, and there was no organ harvesting,” Duru said.
“I have already written to international agencies about a senator who claimed to have known something about the murder of a young lady and kept it to herself”, she added.
Duru claimed she had submitted recordings and documents to law enforcement agencies in the U.S., the Inter-Parliamentary Union, and Nigerian police, calling for a full-scale probe into the senator’s activities.

“She said the reason for the fight was not really about the Senate President, but about the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” Duru continued.
“She said they don’t want the Yoruba government to go beyond four years.”
In her response, Akpoti-Uduaghan said she would address “the unfounded allegations made therein” more comprehensively in due course.
“In the nearest of time, I will respond to the unfounded allegations made therein,” she stated.
