Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen has rewarded newly crowned Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions Remo Stars with a N10 million cash gift for their remarkable 2024/25 title win.
Osimhen, currently enjoying an impressive season on loan at Galatasaray, reportedly split the donation evenly between the players and the technical staff of the Ikenne-based club.

The generous gesture follows Remo Stars’ historic feat of clinching their first-ever NPFL title with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Niger Tornadoes on Sunday.
The Super Eagles striker allocated N5 million to the victorious players and another N5 million to the technical crew. He also congratulated the team, commending their resilience, determination, and consistency throughout the campaign.
Remo Stars sealed their maiden NPFL crown with three matches to spare, reaching an unassailable 68 points, 10 points ahead of second-placed Rivers United. Olamilekan Adedayo netted the decisive goal in the 84th minute of their title-clinching match in Ikenne.
Founded in 2004 as FC Dender and rebranded as Remo Stars in 2010, the club has risen from grassroots obscurity to national prominence. Their triumph represents a major milestone in Nigerian football.
Remo Stars became the first privately-owned club to win the NPFL since Julius Berger’s title run in 2000 and the first team from Southwest Nigeria to lift the trophy in 25 years.
Remo Stars’ ascent underscores the growing importance of professional club management, long-term investment, and player development in the evolution of Nigeria’s domestic league.
