The initiative is part of President Bola Tinubu’s broader agenda for economic diversification and rural revitalisation.
This development follows a strategic meeting in Abuja between the Kwara State Government and the Representatives of Federal Government.

Afees Abolore Alabi, State Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development; Segun Cornelius Adebayo, the Executive Secretary of NALDA; Suleiman Abdullahi Bello, Special Assistant to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq on smallholder farmers intervention pushed for it success.
Alabi, said the initiative was apt as it would boost Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq’s commitment to inclusive agricultural development in Kwara, saying:“this partnership reinforces our administration’s drive to empower our people through access to land, inputs, and infrastructure.
“It supports our long-term goals for food security, job creation, and rural transformation.”
According to him, key projects such as the Ora Farm Settlement Scheme will benefit directly, with each participating farmer receiving 5 hectares of farmland, adding that beyond land allocation, NALDA will provide essential infrastructure, schools, health centres, police posts, water reservoirs, perimeter fencing, and mechanization hubs, to support sustainable farming communities.
Alabi, however, confirmed the Government’s readiness to roll out the programme across all the three Senatorial Districts, ensuring statewide impact.
“This collaboration with NALDA is a significant leap forward in our efforts to achieve shared prosperity through agriculture,” he noted.
The partnership aligns with Kwara’s long-term agricultural transformation strategy, which prioritizes commercial expansion, value chain development, and rural economic upliftment through smart investments.
