Former Kogi State Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello has extended Easter greetings to Christians across Kogi State and Nigeria, encouraging them to embrace the season’s teachings of love, sacrifice, peace and unity.
In a goodwill message released Saturday by the Director of his Media Office, Ohiare Michael, Bello congratulated Christians on completing the 40-day Lenten period and suggested their prayers would support the ongoing implementation of President Bola Tinubu’s administration’s goals.
The former governor highlighted the significance of Easter, noting that its lessons “transcend religious and cultural boundaries and serve as the bedrock of harmonious coexistence.”
Bello specifically praised the cordial relationship between Christians in Kogi State and followers of other faiths. He encouraged Kogi residents to maintain their support for his successor, Governor Usman Ododo, in delivering democratic benefits to all citizens regardless of religious affiliation or ethnicity.

During his time in office, Bello earned recognition for fostering interfaith harmony and inclusivity, notably through the construction of a chapel in the Kogi Government House. In his message, he urged Christians to embrace the timeless values of peace, compassion and unity associated with the Easter season.
The former governor also called for continued support for President Tinubu’s administration, stating that “the current administration under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has done a lot to turn the economy around in a very short period.”
“We must first recognise this as the administration consolidates on the gains and strives to achieve every aspect of the Renewed Hope Agenda,” Bello stated.
He concluded by wishing Christians a joyous Easter celebration and praying for lasting peace and progress across Nigeria.
