The Easter break will run until Monday, April 28, 2025, with judges expected to resume duties on Tuesday, April 29, 2025.
However, a circular issued by Justice John Tsoho, Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, stated that three key divisions of the Court will remain open during the vacation to handle urgent matters only.
A statement signed by Catherine Christopher, Director of Information for the Federal High Court, noted that the Federal High Court of Nigeria would proceed on its Easter vacation from Wednesday, April 16 to Monday, April 28, 2025.

It added that the break was in line with Order 46, Rule 4 (C) of the Federal High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules, 2019 (as amended), and that Court activities would resume fully on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, across all judicial divisions.
During the vacation, only the core judicial divisions in Abuja, Lagos, and Port Harcourt would remain open, and strictly for cases of extreme urgency.
The statement emphasised that only matters involving the enforcement of fundamental rights, arrest or release of vessels, and those concerning critical national interest would be heard by designated vacation judges.
According to the statement, Justices Emeka Nwite and Musa Sulaiman Liman will preside over urgent matters in the Abuja Division, while Justices Akintayo Aluko and Isaac I. Dipeolu will serve in the Lagos Division.
For the Port Harcourt Division, Justices Phoebe Ayua and Adamu Mohammed had been assigned to serve as vacation judges.
The statement further advised all vacation judges and heads of Divisions to promptly refer any matters requiring urgent attention or directives to the Chief Judge.
