Troops of 6 Brigade Nigerian Army and Sector 3 of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) have rescued four kidnapped victims during a swift operation in Kallong village, Karim Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba State.
The rescue, which took place on April 3, 2025, followed credible intelligence that prompted a rapid response by the troops, forcing the kidnappers to abandon their captives and flee the scene.
According to a statement signed by Olubodunde Oni, Acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, 6 Brigade, the military has made significant progress in restoring peace to previously troubled communities, with Andamin in Karim Lamido Local Government Area among the latest beneficiaries.

In response, youths from the Andamin community paid a solidarity visit to the army camp in the area, commending the troops for their unwavering efforts in maintaining peace and security.
Speaking on behalf of the youths, Adamu Abubakar, community leader praised the military’s professionalism and pledged continued support for their mission.
To support the troops’ welfare, the youths also announced plans to sink a borehole at the army camp, with the project expected to be completed within three days.
Kingsley Uwa, Commander of 6 Brigade and Sector 3 OPWS, lauded the troops for their rapid and professional action.
He reaffirmed the army’s commitment to securing all communities within its operational zone and urged the public to continue providing timely and credible information to support military efforts.
The Nigerian Army emphasized its dedication to protecting lives and property, calling on all peace-loving citizens of Taraba to sustain their cooperation as efforts to restore lasting peace continue.
