The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has apprehended six suspects for various crimes, rescued 21 kidnap victims. and recovered N4.8 million ransom in major operations.
In a statement issued by Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Force Public Relations Officer, the Police announced that the intensified crackdown, carried out during the first quarter of 2025, had significantly weakened organised crime in the Country.
These operations have led to the rescue of kidnapped victims, the arrest of key suspects, and the seizure of a considerable cache of weapons and illicit funds.
The Police noted that one of the most notable operations took place in Taraba State on March 29, 2025.

Police operatives attached to the State Command, alongside other security agencies, swiftly responded to a kidnapping ploy along the Takum/Mararaba Road in Muji Town.
According to the statement, a fierce gun battle ensued, resulting in the successful rescue of 20 kidnapped victims and the recovery of all vehicles abandoned at the scene. Two victims who sustained injuries are currently receiving medical treatment.
In a related development, Police operatives in Kano State apprehended several suspects involved in the abduction of one Muhammad Bello Yushau.
Following his kidnapping on March 8, 2025, the state Anti-Kidnapping Squad carried out a thorough investigation, which led to the arrest of Tukur Lawal, alias Maikudi, and his accomplices, Ado Usman, Sanusi Surajo, Habiba Shuaibu, and Ummulkhairi Ibrahim on March 18 and 19.
During the raid, officers recovered a locally- made rifle and N4.84 million believed to be ransom. The victim was safely rescued and reunited with his family.

Additionally, in a separate operation led by the Special Tactical Squad (STS), security operatives arrested Kafinta Musa, a notorious armed robber and kidnapper from Taraba State.
It noted that an AK49 rifle loaded with five rounds of live ammunition was recovered from him.
The Police said that it had launched a manhunt for other members of his criminal syndicate.
Commending the officers for their courage and professionalism, Kayode Egbetokun, Inspector-General of Police, urged the public to continue co-operating with law enforcement by providing timely information to aid crime-fighting efforts.
He emphasised that these successful operations reflect the unwavering commitment of the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigerian public to maintaining community safety and security.
