The Friend of Jesus in Sports (FOJEIS) on Saturday equipped 150 grassroots football players with life lessons in sports development and career progression.
The 150 grassroots players represent 10 football teams across Lagos, with a singular goal of talent development.
“The goal is to equip 150 players from 10 different teams. And I think we’ve been able to achieve that today,” Tolu Joshua, head coach, Friend of Jesus in Sports (FOJEIS), said.
According to her, the initiative was geared towards driving excellence and talking to people about Jesus and prayer.
Joshua disclosed that the name FOJEIS, came about when she was looking at how to be of benefit to those in the sports community.

“It’s just a fusion of what we are about,” she said, disclosing that the drive was to help grassroots players in their careers both on and off the pitch.
She disclosed that bringing grassroots footballers together to impact and equip with needed nuggets to succeed in their sporting careers.
“The goal for me has always been the same. Just to keep driving and pushing to be a blessing to other people, especially those in the sports community,” Joshua said.
Mobolaji Obadara, one of FOJEIS coach, said Nigeria footballers do not consistently improve their footballing talent.
According to him, grassroots footballers must equip themselves with the appropriate skills to succeed in their sporting careers.
