Dapo Asaju, the bishop theologian of the Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion has been appointed chairman of the governing council of Precious Cornerstone University (PCU), Ibadan.
Timothy Olubisi Adejumo, the Vice-Chancellor of Precious Cornerstone University, in a congratulatory message, described the appointment as a well-deserved honour, acknowledging Asaju’s profound vision and ability to inspire transformative growth within the university community.
According to him, the appointment came in recognition of Asaju’s leadership, dedication, and commitment to academic and institutional excellence.
The latest appointment comes shortly after Asaju, who is also the Anglican bishop of Ilesha diocese, was named chairman of the board of trustees of Hallmark University, Itele Ijebu, in Ogun State.
According to the statement, Asaju’s dual leadership roles further solidify his influence in shaping higher education in Nigeria.

His track record in academia, theological balance, charismatic leadership and administration positions him to make significant contributions to both institutions, fostering a legacy of excellence and innovation.
Born on 16 November 1961, Dapo Asaju is the former Rector of the Crowther Graduate Theological Seminary and former vice chancellor of Ajayi Crowther University, between October 1, 2015 and September 30, 2020.
Apart from being a bishop, Asaju, is a lecturer at the Lagos State University and he is also a member of several and academic societies, including Constitution Drafting Committee for the inauguration of Lagos West Diocese, British Society of New Testament Studies, and Nigeria Association for Christian Studies, Nigeria association for bible studies, among others.
