The Nasara Women Development Foundation, a prominent non-governmental organization focused on the empowerment of women, youths, and the girl-child, has partnered with the Association of Kebbi Women Entrepreneurs (AKWE) to launch the Student Entrepreneurship Empowerment Program in Kebbi State.
The initiative, tagged the Nasara–AKWE Student Entrepreneurship Empowerment Programme (NASEEP), was officially launched at the Haliru Abdu Stadium in Birnin Kebbi during this year’s edition of the National Women Entrepreneurship Festival organized by AKWE.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Executive Officer of Nasara Foundation, Hajiya Bilkisu Muhammad Nasir, highlighted that the program is designed to equip secondary school girls across Kebbi State with entrepreneurial skills, financial literacy, and business development knowledge.
“At Nasara Foundation, we are committed to developing the girl-child. Through our partnership with AKWE, we will provide training, mentorship, and support to young girls, enabling them to build sustainable business ventures,” Hajiya Bilkisu said.

“We believe that NASEEP will empower them to become self-reliant, innovative, and job creators rather than job seekers.”
The President of AKWE, Maryam Bello Bala, commended the Founder of Nasara Foundation, Her Excellency Hajiya Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris, for her unwavering support. She described Hajiya Zainab as a strong pillar of the association and emphasized that the strategic partnership marks a significant step in securing the future of the girl-child in Kebbi State.
“With NASEEP, Nasara Foundation and AKWE are strengthening efforts to foster economic empowerment and entrepreneurship among young girls, ensuring they have the skills and opportunities to thrive,” Bala stated.
She also expressed gratitude for the Twenty Million Naira donation from Nasara Foundation to AKWE, which will be distributed among the association’s over 250 members.
Bala assured that the funds would serve as capital to enhance their businesses, citing the success of three members who were specially rewarded for effectively utilizing previous financial support from the foundation. “We will bring back positive results next year,” she concluded.
