United Capital plc, a financial and investment services firm, has been awarded the 2015 Banking and Finance Firm of the Year (Nigeria) by the UK-based Corporate LiveWire. The Corporate LiveWire Global Award focuses on recognising global excellence in the financial services sector.
While presenting the awards, Jake Powers, publisher of Corporate LiveWire, said: “This is our biggest and most in-depth awards winner to date and we have honoured some of the most well-known advisory firms in the world including PwC, Clifford Chance and Morgan Stanley.”
He noted that the firm was recognised as a result of its sustained leadership in capital market issues in both corporate and public sector as well as its efforts towards securing significant new mandate in Asset Management and Trusteeship.
United Capital, which has received growing regional and international recognition, reported a first quarter PBT growth of 44 percent, compared to its performance in the first quarter of the previous year.

Recognitions and special honours are given to such women identified and nominated by the public.
Sanni’s award was in recognition of her role in financially empowering African governments, companies and individuals through her untiring contributions at United Capital and within the Nigerian capital market community.
